Institute of Human Anatomy

Presented by Johnathan, I find the Institute of Human Anatomy channel on YouTube to be a really enjoyable and informative watch.

For body nerds and anyone who wants to understand human anatomy and physiology, this is a great watch. I have not yet tried their paid products but, I want to, given the quality of their free stuff.

I have covered all these topics many times before, which has helped me gauge the quality of the learning provided. The amount of information presented, and its quality is excellent.

I want you to be confident in understanding all the information you come across about how to take care of yourself.

The information in these videos is high quality and matches what you will find in textbooks. With this knowledge, you become better prepared to determine what is best for your health in many areas, such as hydration, how to exercise, when and where and so on.

Example lessons

To give you an idea of the quality of the lessons, I have included a few of those that I have watched below. The value with these videos is the convenience in the way you can learn. In my day (Yes, I am that old that I learnt all this before the internet!!!) I had to read this in books and listen to lectures. I couldn’t watch this all in my own time and at my convenience.

I also had to spend a lot of time and money to learn any of this. Yet here its there for free and really well explained.

So I am really excited to see that this level of instruction is available now and I hope you enjoy the content as much as i have.

Membership community

I haven’t tried the membership community, but I would certainly like to after I have watched the video below on the digestive system.

I know how fascinating the digestive system is and how understanding your digestive system can make such an important difference in your life.

I benefit from knowledge like this every day by being able to adjust my routine on a daily basis to what my body needs at the time. It changes more than you probably realise, and topics such as digestion may seem unimportant, but they are actually one of the most fundamental to good health.

Given that you eat 3 times a day and drink regularly, all this nutrition must go through the process of digestion to be useful for your body.

Poor digestion is a contributing factor to many diseases so understanding how digestion works helps you learn how to support it and ensure you digest your food and drink properly and enjoy good health as a result.

This is just one topic that’s fundamental to health, and this channel covers many more.

Summary

Johnathan and the team at The Institute of Human Anatomy have provided an excellent overview of each topic covered and provide engaging lessons going above and beyond to help you, the student, understand the concepts discussed properly.

As with all learning it is important to have more than one teacher to get different views on the same topic and also to review the content actively several times to fully understand what is being said.

The beauty of watching information on a channel like this is that you absorb bits as you go, and while you cannot take it all in, you will find that over time, it all starts to make sense, and the puzzle pieces start to fall into place.
