The mince pies need toning down and the fruit often needs sweetening.
The mince pies are clearly indulgent and the fruit is clearly healthy.
Together they make gorgeous flavour and texture combinations. No heavy sauce needed, it’s cheap and easy to get for a shop and seasonal so I vary it all the time to suit my mood.
Best of all because it’s part of a normal meal and not extra food it’s free in terms of calories so it’s all pleasure and no pain.
