Anglesey Adventures – How a Welsh Getaway Helped Me Heal

And why it might help you do the same

Just before the summer holidays rolled in, I took a short solo trip to Anglesey and Snowdonia. It wasn’t planned in the usual way — no itinerary, no pressure to see it all. I just needed some space to reset.

As a busy parent, professional, and someone who’s constantly thinking about health and wellbeing, it’s easy to get caught in the cycle of doing. This trip reminded me that sometimes, the best way to heal is to stop chasing and start living.

I filmed a short video while I was there. Nothing fancy — just me, by the harbour, reflecting on why this kind of escape matters. It’s a simple, honest conversation about choosing joy first, and letting the health follow.

What struck me most was how quickly I felt better. Not just physically from the walking and fresh air, but emotionally and mentally too. Being out in nature, away from noise and routine, gave me the clarity I didn’t know I needed.

That’s the point I keep coming back to: we don’t need more intense routines. We need more room to breathe. Health isn’t just about workouts and diets — it’s about living in a way that supports who you are and what you value.

That’s exactly what I teach in my course, How to Invest in YOU: The Beginner’s Guide. It’s designed to help you build a lifestyle that restores you — not just on holiday, but in the day-to-day rhythm of life.

I hope this video sparks something in you — a memory, an idea, or even just a reminder to book that weekend away you’ve been thinking about.

Because sometimes, that’s all it takes.
